Why Lotsa Tasks

To-do lists were built for ten tasks. You have a thousand.

Without a planner

  • Your list hit 300 items, and now “Today” holds nine hours of work for an eight-hour day.
  • Time-blocking works until the first meeting runs over. Then you drag every block by hand.
  • Picking the next task from a wall of to-dos takes more energy than the task itself.

With Lotsa Tasks

  • Keep every task, however many, without cluttering today.
  • Get a day that actually fits: each task has a duration and a place on the clock.
  • Finish early or run late and the rest of the day replans itself.
How it works

Your day, planned and replanned for you

Three steps, then you mostly just check things off.

  1. Dump it all in

Add every task you have, with how long it takes and how much it matters. Lists, tags, and due dates keep thousands of them in order.

  2. Get a realistic day

The planner fills today minute by minute: high priorities and due dates first, fitted around the things that happen at a fixed time.

  3. Just do the next thing

Check tasks off as you go. Finished early? Something ran long? The rest of the day reshuffles, so the plan is always true.

Features

Everything a big list needs, nothing it doesn’t

Built for scale

Hundreds or thousands of tasks, one calm view

Most to-do apps are designed for a few dozen tasks. Lotsa Tasks assumes you have a lot: lists and tags to organize them, and a planner that decides which few belong in today, so the rest can wait without nagging.

Day planner

A minute-by-minute plan, built for you

Give tasks a duration and a priority. The planner lays them out on today’s timeline, working around meetings and other fixed-time items, so you can see what fits before the day starts.

Always up to date

Plans that change when your day does

Real days don’t follow the plan. When you complete a task, early or late, the planner rebuilds the rest of the day from that moment: tasks move up, low-priority work slides to tomorrow, and nothing has to be dragged by hand.

Recurring tasks

Repeats that match real life

Some things happen on a schedule: every Monday, the 1st of the month. Others happen some time after the last time: water the plants five days after you last did. Lotsa Tasks handles both, plus one-off tasks with optional due dates.

A to-do list and a calendar, finally working together

To-do apps hold your tasks but leave the scheduling to you. Calendars hold your time but not your tasks. Lotsa Tasks does both, and keeps them in step.

Privacy and security

Your tasks are yours

A task list holds a lot about your life. Lotsa Tasks is designed so the places your data is stored can’t read it.

  • Encrypted in transit and at rest

Everything travels over TLS and is encrypted before it’s written to storage.

  • A separate key for every account

Each account’s data is sealed with its own key, which is itself protected by a master key held in a dedicated key-management service.

  • Delete means deleted

Deleting your account destroys your key, so your data becomes unreadable everywhere, backups included.

Questions

How does the planner decide what goes in my day?

It looks at each task’s duration, priority, and due date, and fits the most important work around the things you’ve fixed to a time. When you complete a task, it replans the rest of the day from that moment.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. There’s a free plan and a paid plan, billed monthly or yearly. Yearly costs ten times the monthly price, so you get two months free. See pricing.

Which devices can I use?

Lotsa Tasks runs in your web browser. Mobile app availability TBD

Is it end-to-end encrypted?

No, and we’d rather say so plainly. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest with a key unique to your account, so the storage provider can’t read it. The Lotsa Tasks service itself can decrypt it, which is what lets you sign in from any device without managing your own encryption keys.

Can I import tasks from another app?

Answer TBD

Put every task somewhere. Let the planner pick today’s.

Start on the free plan, bring in your whole list, and see what a realistic day looks like.
